If your planning a holiday and just looking for ideas or ready to make a firm booking the holiday web ring is an enjoyable way to find the accomodation you need.
Many of the properties listed on the ring are available direct from the owner and as the ring is FREE you will be paying a competitive price.  If you have time to spend viewing all the sites in the ring just keep clicking next on the selection panel.  On the other hand if you have a firm idea what you want it may be better to go to the list and select direct from it.

This ring links together sites which contain pages relating to Holiday Accommodation in some way.  Holidays from the UK, France, Spain and as far away as Australia are all included here.

Web rings are a great way of using the World Wide Web linking together sites which have a common theme.

This Ring is a FREE service and has been set up to enable Internet users who have an interest in Holiday Accommodation and Accommodation matters to find those items more easily than resorting to search engines. This ring links together sites which contain pages relating to Holiday Accommodation in some way. If your site contains such content you can join the ring FREE and if you know of other such sites you might like to recommend to them that they may wish to join the 'Holiday Accommodation' Ring. When you join your site will be added to the queue until the ringmaster or another user checks that your content is suitable and that you have included the correct HTML code for the following 'Holiday Accommodation' webring panel in your ring page. If all is in order you will be added to the ring.

Sites with content of an adult or dubious nature will not be accepted.

Update October 2000   ~   Historical only No longer in use

The webrings have been taken over by Yahoo and the Navigation bar is to be updated.  In order to obtain the new YAHOO NAVBAR. It is necessary to join Yahoo at http://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=uk&.lg=uk  From here you will have a Yahoo account with its own log in name and password.
It is then necessary to go to http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=Holidayaccom where you can associate your Yahoo account with you webring membership.  When this is completed you will have the new Yahoo Navbar.  The upside of this for member sites is that all webring sites are automatically added to the YAHOO search engine.
It is generally believed that the old Navbars will work till the end of this year at which point they will be switched off after which the new ones will be essential.

Yahoo takeover of Webring

There is some considerable discussion at the moment about the future of webrings and the effects of Yahoo's takeover.
Yahoo took over Geocities who owned Webring in the early part of 1999.  However initially they left it alone,  it was only in
September of this year that they moved to a new system which associates Webring and Yahoo membership.

There has been some critisism of the new system.
On the positive side however when there system is sorted out maintenace in particular monitoring for broken rings should be
automatic.  Another advantage is the automatic inclusion of webring sites within the Yahoo search engine.

The new toolbar usesa Java applet which sits on a members page and calls down all the Navbars for that site.
A disadvantage of this is loss of flexibility and loss of originality in the design of the Navbars which are all similar.
If you look at www.brightbell.com/yahoo.html you will find a number of links which lead to further discussion on this.

Webring has now been sold off by Yahoo and is under the control of Webring.com. Click the link aboveto Webrings hub tofind out the latest inormation.
