Licence Revalidation.

Since 2007 it has been necessary for radio amateurs to validate there licence every 5 years.

The validation is a low cost method of keeping track of the location and calls of amateurs.

Page 6 of the licence document states that “By no later than 5 years after the date of issue of this licence, unless during that 5 year period the licensee has given notice to Ofcom of any change to any of the licensees details as set out in section 1 of the licence in accordance with clause 6 2), the licensee must confirm to Ofcom that the details set out in section 1 of the licence remain current and accurate.

The licensee must make further confirmation to Ofcom every 5 years from the later of : (a) the date on which the licensee last confirms to Ofcom that the details set out in section 1 of this licence remain current and accurate ¬†and (b) the date on which the licensee last gives notice to Offcomm of any change to the licensees details. Failure to do so may lead to revocation of the licence.”

The licence may be validated with no charge at www.ofcom.org.uk Amateurs who experience difficulties with this should contact 020 7981 3131 It is necessary to login using the email originally supplied plus your password.
